1. If provided, each school is guaranteed its appropriate quota as
indicated on the director's preference list.
2. Additional singers are taken only from schools providing
appropriate quota and additional singers.
The order of remaining schools within each quota category will be
determined by drawing the school names from a hat at random to determine
the order. The order of quota category is also determined by random
draw. The selection committee at the selection meeting will accomplish
this.
The selection of additional singers is based on need and comes from
additional singer's section of director's preference list.
One student will be selected for each voice section in addition to
those for the required instrumentation during the regular selection
process. This person will be the alternate who will replace any
cancellation in the section prior to the festival. This will make the
host's job much easier by having this person identified in advance and
not having to go back through the process and try and guess whom the
next person would have been.
Courtesy appointments will be made if:
-the student is the child of the director
-the student attends the director's school
-the student is listed in the first available spot under additional
students on director's preference list and is labeled "courtesy" (Feb.
'96)
One additional copy of all district chorus music is to be sent to the
director of all participating schools.
THIS MUST BE INCLUDED WITH FIRST MAILING TO SCHOOLS FOR CHORAL
FESTIVALS: Anyone may audition for accompanist. This person does not
have to be a selected singer but must be tried out as a singer if
selected. THIS PERSON MUST ACCOMPANY CHORUS IN THE HOME SCHOOL. This
person is in addition to the home school quota. The guest director may
choose to use his/her own accompanist.
